SENIOR .NET API DEVELOPER + BENCH OMB – REMOTE

We are seeking a Senior .NET API Developer for a 12-month contract position with the NYC Department of Education. The role is primarily remote with occasional need for onsite visits.  Candidates must be available to join immediately.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior .NET API Developer, you will design, develop, and test cloud-native Open APIs for a digital banking platform. You’ll leverage modern tools and frameworks to build scalable services in a Microsoft Azure environment and collaborate closely with DevOps and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with .NET API development
• Experience with Bench and OpenMessaging Benchmark (OMB), a messaging benchmark tool and framework developed at Reddit, used for testing the performance and cost trade-offs of messaging system configurations
• Strong experience designing and implementing Azure-based microservices
• Proficiency in .NET Core, C#, Web API, and RESTful services
• Solid understanding of Cosmos DB and Azure cloud services
• Experience writing automated unit and integration tests
• Familiarity with Postman, Splunk, and SOLID programming principles
• Experience working with Azure DevOps and JIRA
• Ability to document program design and code maintenance procedures
• Strong debugging and software-hardware interaction knowledge
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Prior experience in the U.S. banking industry is preferred
• Associate’s degree in computer programming or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
