Commissioning Engineering Leader (PE)
Tysons, VA | Full-Time | $125k – $185k
We're seeking a Commissioning Engineering Leader to build and lead a growing engineering team enhancing the performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems at various facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for technical execution, mentoring engineers, and supporting complex electrical infrastructure projects.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of electrical engineers
- Perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis (IEEE 1584 & NFPA 70E)
- Conduct short circuit, coordination, and load flow studies
- Develop electrical system models using SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software
- Review one-line diagrams, protective device settings, and engineering reports
- Provide technical guidance on electrical safety and code compliance
- Support proposals, client meetings, and project execution
- Travel up to 25% to project sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Leadership or project management experience
- Experience with Arc Flash, power system studies, and electrical distribution systems
- Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC, and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
